Our memories play an important role in the construction of identity and self-awareness. My childhood memories have acquired a special value for me since the outbreak of the full-scale war in Ukraine, my home country. For many children, this time will become a formative memory. My childhood in Ukraine was different, and I want to share it with the audience in the form of an animated short. In the film, I tell a personal story about my childhood memories and explore how memories are preserved and why they have a special meaning for people.

The animated short Mariupol. A Hundred Nights tells us a story of a little girl who wakes up on February 24th because of the air alert, and tries to find someone living in the burning city. The main character is based on the story of Alisa, a 4-year-old girl, who stayed in the besieged Mariupol during the whole time; she was also at the Azovstal plant during the last month of its defence. When the Russians allowed the civilians to evacuate from Azovstal, Alisa was separated from her mother.

Danko, Zirka, and Fabian live peacefully in the small town of Rondo, a magical and joyful place where even the flowers sing! Everything is perfect … until the fateful day that War arrives. Having never experienced War, the inhabitants don’t know what to do. They try to talk to it and fight it, but nothing seems to stop the spread of War’s destruction and darkness. Harnessing the power of light, community, and song, Danko, Zirka, and Fabian, along with all their neighbors, must rally together to lead Rondo to victory. The War Changed Rondo reflects the darkness and pain that conflict brings and the wounds that linger long after it’s over.

An immigrant comes to the first-world country to paint a mural on the tallest tower. He tries to adapt to the new reality, but xenophobia and odd rules force him to go back.
The film is devoted to all the immigrants who are stuck in-between the worlds: not quite fitting in the new country, and becoming strangers in their homeland.

This satirical parody was created against the background of the events in Nova Kakhovka. Silent Witness: The Kherson Disaster" is an animated film that sheds light on the catastrophic events that unfolded in Nova Kakhovka, Ukraine, and highlights the apparent lack of support from the United Nations during the crisis. The film depicts a depressing reality: the lack of substantial assistance from the United Nations. This international organization, portrayed through cartoon characters, simply observes what is happening from the sidelines, without taking active action to provide meaningful assistance or support.
